The feeling of inner balance and well-being in body and mind is something we all appreciate.
Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is a plant with a long history in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. In traditional herbal knowledge, it has been used for thousands of years for its naturally sweet taste and appreciated properties.

In many herbal traditions, licorice root has been associated with calm, balance, and harmony, and used as part of teas and tinctures drunk for gastrointestinal discomfort, mucous membrane irritation, or as general support during stressful periods.
It has also often been combined with other herbs to milden strong flavors and give a rounder character to mixtures.

For us, licorice root is appreciated as part of daily health rituals – especially after meals or as a naturally sweet and warming drink when relaxation is needed.

Traditional use (according to plant monographs)
In European and Asian plant tradition, licorice root has:
• Been used in connection with stomach pain, throat irritation, cough, and mild gastritis.
• Been described as soothing for mucous membranes in the digestive and respiratory tracts.
• In some traditions, also been associated with support for fatigue or stress.

These uses are based on historical and traditional use, not on modern clinical evidence.

Usage (traditional)
